Nova Scotia Demand: Express Entry Stream

It is the stream linked to the express entry program. In the Nova Scotia Demand: Express Entry Stream (NSDEE), applicants are picked from the federal Express Entry Pool and selected based on their occupation is in demand. The applicants who are selected in this stream are provided 600 bonus points in the Express entry to boost their profile. The stream is divided into two parts-

  • Category A 
  • Category B

Category A is where all the applicants have a full-time skilled job offer from a Nova Scotia employer. It accepts all applications at all times and there is no intake period. The minimum point requirement for selection under this category is 67 points on the point assessment grid.  The appellants need to have one year of work experience in NOC O, A, or B and should have a profile created in the Express entry system.

Category B also has similar requirements, except the candidate need not have a job offer from the province.  There should be an express entry profile of the appellant with work experience of at least one year in the in-demand occupation and an adequate language proficiency score.

What are the eligibility requirements for Nova Scotia Occupation in demand?

  • The candidate’s age needs to be between 18 to 49 years of age
  • The applicant should be able to meet the minimum language score requirement, which is set at a low band of 4.5
  • Minimum of one year of work experience in the desired occupational field in the last six years in NOC skill type O, A, or B
  • Canadian education system standard equivalent education of the applicant
  • Have the intention of living and working in Nova Scotia
  • Having an adequate amount of funds to settle in the interim period
  • Getting a Medical exam and also police verification is important for the immigration
